For the past few years people have been talking about the world's end in 2012, believing in what the mayans had predicted. But i'm a bit sure that everyone of us just asked himself is that true?
The mayans' predictions
The mayans had a system of cycles controlling their time calculations, and it was said that every cycle ended by a catastrophe (ex. ice ages, floads, etc.).
But their last cycle stopped at December 21, 2012, which indicates what most people thought to be the end of the world. This was stated in a stone board that goes back to mayans' age.
Most people believe those predictions, but what i personally believe in is the scientific facts, which i was astonished when i knew that it's really scientifically true.
The scientific facts behind 2012
Astonished to know it's true? But it's true. Our galaxy -as u know- consists of many solar systems and stars revolving to a central point round and round, which results in the creation of a horizontal plane of high gravity which is called Galactic plane. Every solar system must pass through this plane -even our solar system-, which will result in catastrophes. When the Earth reaches the galactic plane, their will be disturbance in Earth's gravity which will result in shifting poles, falling asteroids, earthquakes, tsunamis.
Scientists think that this will happen by the year 2012, which brought me again to consider what i said before about the mayans' predictions and its truthfulness.
From my point of view, i think that 2012 will be like any past age, like the ice ages which people passed through and continued living.
At the end, 2012 might not be the end of the world but it could be a new bigginning for mankind.
